The venue

Pazo do Mosteiro is located in the town of Tomiño (Pontevedra) where the Miño river becomes the natural border between Spain and Portugal, making this region (Baixo Miño) one of the most beautiful natural areas of the Iberian peninsula.

The venue  has a 30,000 m² of land where is room for everything ... vineyards, fruit orchards, green gardens, shade gardens, fully equipped areas for events and even a swimming pool area.

The central building integrates an old 13th-century female monastery and it has several large halls, reading areas, a library and both winter and  summer dining areas. That makes of the venue a flexible space to host all kinds of events.

Pazo do Mosteiro gardens as well as the central building have been remodeled and adapted to new times, making the space a perfect mix of tradition and modernity that will provide the tranquility and intimacy that your event deserves.

Pazo is the name given to the traditional stately homes in Galicia, normally linked to buildings that for one or another reason were of some relevance in the area where they were located.

In our case, Pazo do Mosteiro is also known as Pazo Troncoso de Lira and that is because; on one hand the central building was a female Benedictine Monastery built in the 13th century;  and on the other it preserves the name of the family that use to own it in later times.

It is also necessary to highlight that Pazo do Mosteiro is located alongside the Portuguese route of the Way of St. James (Camino de Santiago) that runs in a very wide section along the banks of the Miño river.

The central building still preserves much of the old monastery and its remodeling has respected the Plateresque style of the facades.

The venue has 30,000 m² of land which includes an extensive vineyard plantation of Albariño grapes. Albariño wine is a traditional wine from this particular area and is recognized as a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO).

It also has more than 15,000 m² of spectacular and modern gardens where you will be able to find lots of different plants as hydrangeas, agapanthus, wisteria, bougainvillea, camellias with its amazing flowers and magnolias. You can also take a walk trough its “carballeira” filled with oak and chestnut trees.
